You can have your car MOT'ed within the calendar month prior to the expiry date. When the certificate is issued it will still be valid until the original expiry date, giving you up to 13 months MOT.

Your cars first MOT is required when it has reached 3 years from date of first registration and once every year after that. The current Government MOT rate for cars with up to 8 seats is £54.85
